  1. What percentage am I supposed to pay for my safari?  A minimum Non-Refundable deposit of 30% of the total cost of services is required at the time of booking to confirm all the rooms and services. Last and final payment of 70% of the total cost of services will be payable 65 Days prior to service commencement date. Failure to which Saafo Safaris shall not be liable for any loss either in part or in full for booked services due to failure to adhere to the above terms.
  2. Can I cancel my safari?  Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in numbers (hereinafter collectively called a CANCELLATION) are subject to Cancellation and No-show fees if cancelled after booking and up to the arrival date as is in the terms and conditions
  3. Can you accept local currencies? All prices are quoted in US Dollars unless otherwise indicated and are Net and Non-Commissionable.
  4. Do flights limit the luggage weight?There is a maximum luggage limitation of 15kgs per person (preferably in soft/duffle bags) on all local charters and scheduled flights between parks and cities.Excess baggage is charged at the prevailing freight rate and is strictly subject to space availability.
  5. When is The Best Time To Go On a Safari? Deciding when to go on safari depends on what country you would like to visit and when you are able to plan your trip. The best time to go on safari in Kenya and experience diversity of wildlife is during the annual migration of millions of wildebeest in the Masai Mara . The best time to see this wildlife spectacle is from July to October. Other national parks in Kenya are also excellent and the best time to visit these would be during the dry seasons — January through March and July through October.
  6. When is the best time to book for you safari? July, August and December are the busiest times when parks and lodges get a bit crowded and reservations often must be made at least 6 to 8 months in advance.
  7. What are the distances and driving times on safari?

    Distances and driving times in Africa vary depending of the location of the destination from where your tour starts. In Kenya, roads are a bit narrow and may not be well maintained. The roads immediately leading to the National Parks and Game Reserves are also rough.

    Please note that stated driving time on safari itineraries/programs are a rough estimate and may vary depending on weather, traffic and road condition.

  8. Can you plan a own custom  made itinerary?YES It is possible for us to  arrange whatever itinerary you choose to suit your desires. We are not limited to the listed programs and we can arrange any required itinerary, We will be pleased to plan and quote for any feasible plan.
  9. What type of clothing should I wear? The weather in Africa is a bit unpredictable. It is always advisable to carry warm clothing to wear in the evening . Clothes for safari should be light, comfortable and not too brightly colored. Your clothing should be comfortable and casual. Khaki, olive, brown and tan clothing increases your chances of seeing wildlife and offers the added benefit of concealing dirt. Laundry service will be available in many of the places we visit, you should avoid the temptation to over-pack (and anyway, in most of Africa you will have a luggage weight limit of 15kgs).
  10. Can we drink the water? Even though water in many cities and small towns is purified and safe to drink,  we recommend drinking bottled water / drinks which are readily available at hotels, camps and lodges.
